Deborah Brown’s Paradise Series in 26 books

Get ready for a tumultuous ride with a cast of characters as they uncover dead bodies, flex muscle, and find romance in Deborah Brown’s Paradise Mystery Series. When Madison West becomes the owner of her aunt’s beachfront cottages, she inherits not only “The Cottages” but quirky and colorful residents. Among them are Mac, the “good-sized curvy woman” who wears outlandish outfits and manages The Cottages; Crum, a retired college professor who has a penchant for unconventional wardrobes, collecting trash, and initiating group activities; Miss January, “another longtime tenant” who loves her vodka and stuffed cat; and Joseph and his Svetlana, a “hot-looking blowup doll.” A revolving set of renters also provides a menagerie of entertaining characters that keeps the plot moving.

Throughout the series, Madison and her best friend, Fab, find themselves discovering dead bodies. Sometimes they stumble upon dead bodies, and other times they find themselves in the middle of a murder investigation. As a result, Madison and Fab, with the help of others, who take on more significant roles in subsequent adventures, help solve the mysteries. The relationships formed among characters in each of the series contribute to the bonding friendships amid the mayhem and intrigue.

With resolutions of Madison and Fab’s escapades, each book can be read out of sequence, but reading them in order provides hours of enjoyment, and the reader becomes an invested and vicarious observer to the antics and angst of each character.

Deborah Brown provides readers with descriptions of South Florida and the Keys that contribute, at times, to a light-hearted tone. The attention to detail in the sub-tropical settings bring the stories to life.
